Summary: Responsible for the development of SvN’s brand though various channels including social media, traditional media and direct marketing.  Lead communications and change management initiatives with internal stakeholders 

 

SvN is a dynamic interdisciplinary culture-driven practice comprised of a diverse team of architects, urban planners, urban designers and landscape architects.  Since our inception over 40 years ago, we continue to shape the built environment in regions, cities and towns across Canada and worldwide. We have revitalized industrial waterfronts, developed innovative and affordable housing projects, designed resilient neighbourhoods, and promoted rural and urban economic development. As an integrated full-service studio, we guide both public- and private-sector projects. One of SvN's unique strengths is providing design-intensive services that resolve complex urban issues, including land-use regulations, regional infrastructure requirements, and community development.

 

Due to significant growth, we are seeking an experienced Marketing Communications Director to develop, manage and grow SvN’s profile and create internal communications that fosters alignment and engagement.  This opportunity will start as a remote working arrangement and transition to a hybrid working arrangement based out of our office in downtown Toronto. 


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Creates compelling marketing content using appropriate digital channels  ( Social Media / Search Optimization /www.svn-ap.com )  
  • Development of branding and brand standards across SvN
  • Creates and publishes thought leadership content that advances SvN’s Brand in line with identified markets, in collaboration with SvN’s executive curatorial board. 
  • Develops marketing campaigns which target strategic priorities.  Establishes metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of each campaign.
  • Supports key pursuits and proposals with brand specific content
  • Manage small team including: Graphic Designer and Communications Specialist.
  • Develops and implements engaging content for internal stakeholders through an internal communication platform


Outcomes:

  • Increased and Optimized traffic to SVN Social Media / svn-ap.com
  • Social Media engagement – Brand Recognition (ROI Metrics)
  • Increased Employee Engagement through communications.  Measured through eNPS (Engagement Net Promoter Score).
  • ‘Key marketing asset’ (images, project and IDEAS text, physical model photographs, and project imagery) will be of consistent high standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Commerce (Marketing), Business Administration, or Communications, English preferred.
  • Ten years of Marketing Communications experience, with at least three (3) years as a BD/Marketing Manager in professional services, ideally in AEC or design fields.
  • Good at prioritizing, capable of working under pressure and flexible to meet unusual scheduling requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate and communicate ideas, analysis and recommendations to the partners of the firm.
  • Self-starter who is part strategist and part tactician. Enjoys thinking forward and bringing the ideas to life.
